20 Years of Church End Brewery
For those of you who may not have noticed we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year.
As well as recreating some brews from the past, one a month for the whole of 2014, we will also be running various events throughout the year. Keep your eye on the website for details.
And we have got off to a great start this year, with What the Foxes Hat winning gold at Burton Beer Festival in the 2014 CAMRA West Midland Best Bitter category.
This is on top of Fallen Angel winning gold in the Strong Bitter category in 2013, so a collective pat on the back to everyone in the brewery!
This means that Fallen Angel will go to The Great British Beer Festival this year to compete in the Champion Beer of Britain competition while Foxes Hat will be competing in 2015.
Fallen Angel wins gold at the GBBF 2014
The great start to the year continues with Fallen Angel winning a gold medal at the Great British Beer Festival in London. Having won the West Midlands Strong Bitter category in 2013 it was then entered into the National Strong Bitter section at Olympia in London where judging took place yesterday, Tuesday the 12th of August. It was up against strong oppostion from the likes of RCH and Blue Monkey but still won Gold!
Well done to everyone at the brewery who works so hard to make the best beer that we possibly can.
So this weekend give your dusty cd or vinyl copy of Gold by Spandau Ballet and quick whirl and then get yourself down to the tap or The George to try a couple of pints. Cheers!
Second Time Around
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the first Church End ale, our Master Brewers will be reproducing some of our classic beers – one each month, throughout 2014.
