20 Years of Church End Brewery
For those of you who may not have noticed we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year.
As well as recreating some brews from the past, one a month for the whole of 2014, we will also be running various events throughout the year. Keep your eye on the website for details.
And we have got off to a great start this year, with What the Foxes Hat winning gold at Burton Beer Festival in the 2014 CAMRA West Midland Best Bitter category.
This is on top of Fallen Angel winning gold in the Strong Bitter category in 2013, so a collective pat on the back to everyone in the brewery!
This means that Fallen Angel will go to The Great British Beer Festival this year to compete in the Champion Beer of Britain competition while Foxes Hat will be competing in 2015.
Second Time Around
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the first Church End ale, our Master Brewers will be reproducing some of our classic beers – one each month, throughout 2014.
Next Brewery Event
The next event in the Churchend calendar is:
|Sun May 04 @10:00 - |
Church End / Retrobike bike ride
Are you interested in cycling?
Have you got a shonky old bicycle in your garage?
Do you shave your legs?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions then get yourself down to the brewery on Sunday the 4th of May for 10:00.
Churchend have once again teamed up with quite frankly the best bicycle website in the world - www.retrobike.co.uk - to put on a couple of rides around the local area. As in previous years there will be two groups leaving the brewery.
The first will be out for somewhere around 55 miles, while the second will be doing 30 ish miles at a nice sedate pace. Both groups will be stopping somewhere for a bite to eat and hopefully, if the distances and timings work out, will be reconvening at the brewery together to swop tales of derring-do. There will be plenty of opportunities for photos, puncture repairs and general chat mid ride.
Everyone is counted out and hopefully counted back in as well.
If you don't possess a rusty old steed then fear not! You are more than welcome to turn up an a modern affair, it's all about the riding after all. The only thing we ask is that if you wish to attend then please wear a helmet on the day. We like it when everyone returns to the brewery in one piece!
If you have any questions then call Karl at the brewery on 01827 713 080 or check out www.retrobike.co.uk where route details will available a little closer to the date.
